The modules section is one of the main options in the JAS backend. It contains a list of all modules for the selected project regardless of whether a database table exists or not. It shows the module type which is either:

• Project
  This is a custom module that resides in the project's module directory
• System
  This is a system module that resides in the core module directory
• Plugin
  This module is part of a plugin which resides in the relevant plugins directory

Clicking on a module will take you to the data list which shows all data currently in the database table.
